Who is the IAIL?

The International Association of Investigative Locksmiths (IAIL) is an organization of locksmiths, police officers, insurance investigators and other security and law enforcement professionals, with an interest of bringing the benefits of investigative locksmithing to the community as a whole. IAIL members come from all over the world, and is the result of years of untiring work of several people.

The IAIL is committed to developing this profession through the research and education of its members. The IAIL recognizes the need for an organized and professional group of technicians who, through an organized effort, are able to enhance the professional knowledge and techniques of all members. The IAIL is dedicated to establishing guidelines and certification procedures to identify those who have demonstrated the ability, trustworthiness and dependability to be known by the title of Investigative Locksmith and Certified Forensic Locksmith® (CFL).

The IAIL believes in the cooperation between all investigative and law enforcement agencies and technical personnel (i.e. locksmiths and security professionals); and, through this cooperation, providing a service to the law-abiding community.The IAIL and its members are committed to offering technical consultation, professional advice and council, and investigative services to the community, companies, and law enforcement officials.
